Stockhurst farm is a non-working farm situated in a quiet country lane, which is classed as in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty by the Environment Agency in the village of Beckley near Rye in East Sussex. It is surrounded by fields interspersed with the occasional house. Beckley village is mentioned in the Domesday Book and the main farmhouse dates from circa 1500.
Beckley village itself has a church, a public house with a good bar menu and a garage which is able to undertake motor repairs and provide petrol, it is open six days a week and houses a small shop for those forgotten items. For any additional items that are required there is a large superstore to the south which is eight minutes away by car. Within the superstore you will find a post office, cafe, in-store bakery, fresh fish and meat counter.
To the north is the neighbouring village of Northiam, five minutes away by car where you will find a doctors, dentist, a bakery and two small general stores.
Stockhurst is approximately 15 minutes from the historical town of Rye, one of the ancient Cinque Ports where fresh locally caught fish can be purchased.
Situated approximately 40 miles from London there are good rail links to London either from Battle/Robertsbridge, 25 minutes away or a fast service from Ashford or Headcorn - both approximately 40 minutes away.
Access to France can be gained via Eurostar from Ashford, via the Channel Tunnel from Folkestone, 75 minutes or via the Channel ferries from Dover, 85 minutes.
